Just spent the afternoon in total indulgence………been on a visit to the beautiful country village of Corbridge in Northumberland. What a lovely drive out on a beautiful British sunny day, with the car windows open, shades on and Emilee Sande for company on my ipod. Was dually rewarded when I arrived with a stroll over the bridge (watching the ducks dive for fish obviously) and a meander along the high street to some beautiful little independent shops. OOOHh, can’t wait till I have my own little idyll in a country town!!!!!! Now, what would I call it……………

Anyway enough of that dreaming malarkey, let’s get down to the nitty gritty. Found a lovely paint supplier, although having said that I’m not too sure how lost they were in the first place, perhaps just waiting for me to discover it eh? Then a fabulous vintage shop with dare I say it, ‘Shabby Chic’ written all over it or rather ‘Upcycled’ come to think of it. It was a true pleasure just to wander around admiring beautiful things (had left the hubby and kids at home so I actually could wander well this time). AAH, the bliss. But wait one second, that’s not all. I was assured that I would love what another little lane would offer me. By gum were they right!!! Aladdin’s cave, Pandora’s box whatever you say, this little back lane was impressive!!! There I was staggering around like a child in a sweet shop with my eyes were out on stalks as they say. Didn’t know what direction to go in first so I recalled my wonderful husbands saying ‘always go left in life’ (honestly I have no idea), but it worked, it took the pain out of making a decision as engaging my brain at this current moment was too painful.

Needless to say, I drifted back home with plans to up sticks, move to Corbridge and set up shop!!! On the other hand I could stay put and open a shop here and bring a little of Corbridge to me, what do you think?
